Reporting
Successful social media campaigns require transparency, honesty, relevance and commitment. We will report on your brands online reputation along with new website visits, friends and followers.
Traffic
We will review and report on all traffic coming through to the website from all sources. The benefit of Social Media is that it will build awareness of product, service and brand and in turn increase traffic through all sources. Social Media is also known as Viral Marketing because of its viral effect.
Unique Visitors
Whilst we wish to look at overall visitors to the website, we also need to look at the unique visitors. This then helps identify where we see new areas reached and new customers coming to the website.
Referring URLs
This is by far one of the most important to track and watch. The more referring websites that direct traffic to your website the more exposure we know your company will be achieving. A report of all referring URLs and total numbers are provided monthly.
Knowing which social sites send you the most traffic and which blogs and news hubs are picking you up is very valuable. This helps you manage the entire conversation, the influence these sites have in your niche and which of the sites sending you traffic is sending visitors that are engaging in your content.
Conversions
This is a factor to consider however not a main one. We will report on all conversions delivered through the website from Social Media websites. Conversions are classed as leads or sales.
Micro-conversions
These are defined as people who subscribe to RSS, Twitter Followers, and Facebook Fans.
Seeing the referrals that are generating those outbound clicks is essential, as it helps you understand again which funnel of traffic does best on your site. Sphinn might only bring you a couple hundred unique visitors, but out of those you might get 100 new Twitter followers. Digg might send you 50,000 visits and generate nothing when it comes to new RSS or Facebook Fans. Again, the more you know about the hordes of traffic flooding to your site, the better feel you can get as to which communities might help you to build your influence.
Loyalty/Avg Time on site
We will look at criteria such as bounce rate and average time on site each month and look at which social traffic tends to bring visitors that spend more time on your site. Statistically visitors from Twitter spend 43% more time on your site than Digg referrals, and Facebook visitors are spending more time than StumbleUpon? Understanding which referrers from social sites create more page views per visit and longer time on sites is very important and will be reported on monthly.
Branded keywords and type-in traffic
We will look at the monthly searches made on brand related terms and the resultant number of clicks generated to the site from brand terms and compare year on year trends (so we take in to consideration seasonality) and monitor performance. Increases in brand traffic are a good reflection of the resulting Social Media activity.
